Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author and editors. Ryder believes she is Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. Ryder as well as her entire family moved to Mendocino, California, when Ryder was just seven. They resided in an area without electric power. Ryder was an avid bookworm and would spend her days studying books since there was no TV. Ryder was 12 when she was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. In the year she turned 15, Ryder landed her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder was bullied in high school. She thought that by becoming an actor, her behavior would be changed. But, unfortunately, that didn't occur. Still, she pursued her dream. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major breakthrough. Ryder continued playing characters that made a splash in a variety of films. In 1993 she won an Academy Prize for The Age of Innocence.
